Kaji is a native to Osaka, now based in Tokyo, the capital of Japan.

With a professional experience as a Japanese Gardener, Plant Nursery-human, and Product Planner of eco-friendly cars in a Vehicle Manufacturer, he decided to come back to his study in the US in a Environmental Design. He also received a Master of Ecosystem Management in Japan. Kaji works in the landscape design industry since completing his graduation in US.

Influenced by his grandfather, a vintage collector, Kaji deals in plants, vintages, and deep researches, to offer a perspective that combines old/new, domestic/international.

While Kaji lived in the Bar Area, CA, USA, he struggled to find a gift for his friends which is Japanese oriented, crafted, and unique masterpiece. 

This is why Kaji launched 所司原 "Shoshihara" to bridge our people from Japan to the world in the same situation.

The shop specializes in vintage lifeware and handcrafted objects. We choose pieces that are rooted in tradition, craft in a daily life. We curate goods close to nature and time-honored traditions and handmade techniques.
